Boschung delivers 12 winter maintenance vehicles to Chinese airport Dalian

The international airport Dalian Zhoushuizi continues to rely on Boschung vehicles

Dalian/Payerne · December 11, 2018 – The Boschung Group in Payerne, a worldwide lea- ding provider of surface condition management, today announces the delivery of a total of 12 winter maintenance vehicles to Dalian Zhoushuizi International Airport (IATA code: DLC). These are 10 Jetbroom snow removal vehicles and 2 Airport De-icers. A total of 18 jetbrooms, 2 de-icing vehicles, 1 Pony multipurpose carrier and an ice early-warning sys- tem (AWIS) from Boschung are now in use at Dalian Airport.

The Chinese port city of Dalian on the Yellow Sea has an important aviation hub with its Dalian Zhoushuizi airport. Flights to and from Japan, Korea and Russia as well as numerous domestic flights are handled here. Dalian has a continental climate influenced by the monsoon, with humid summers and cold winters. During the cold months, the average temperature drops to below zero with considerable precipitation, so the airport has to provide the necessary capacity for winter maintenance.

Dalian Airport, the oldest customer in China, has been using Boschung’s Surface Condition Manage- ment since 1996. This system provides for the rapid clearing of snow and ice from airport operating areas through the interaction of stationary systems and mobile emergency vehicles. This concept has proven itself over the last few years, which is why Dalian’s airport operating company again decided last year to purchase 10 compact Jetbrooms and 2 special vehicles for de-icing runways. In total, 18 jetbrooms, 2 de-icing vehicles, 1 pony equipment carrier and 1 Boschung ice early-warning system are in use at Dalian Airport.
